Maybe she should do this for her next era

this is EXACTLY right. I hate that she has been forced (bc of all the absurd criticism over her dancing etc) to put on these big, awkward, choreographed numbers when she's in concert. But THIS - her and the mic and true glamour, like Rita Hayworth in Gilda - is her true sweet spot. She feels so much more natural in this environment and yet still modern and elegant and larger than life. Cannot wait to see the full show!

@@liannamkoyan9893 it’s common knowledge that she was deeply affected by all the early criticism of her stage work and dancing. It was withering. She says it in interviews. And that pushed/motivated her into trying to address that issue. And the results are ok. You can tell that that kind of performing isn’t her sweet spot. She is a real singer and not some banal, choreo marionette. This show at the Albert hall shows her in her real element and you can tell how much more confident and effortless she is. She isn’t having to think half the time about what step is next. It’s really nice to see.

I agree with the manufactured aspect of her career, and by the way, it was determined she is using live autotune, with possible additional post production pitch correction. The funny thing is, she does not need it, as she's a very good singer without it--you can check that out on her NPR Tiny Desk Concert from a few months ago. If she did not use autotune I would be more of a fan of her, but she's far more talented as far as singing than Taylor Swift. There are many indie artists who don't use the gimmicks that she does, that are probably better than her but they don't get the publicity. Maybe she'll do what Lady Gaga did for a while, that is sing the standards, without pitch correction. She seems to be in a lot better physical shape now than she was a few years into her career when she seemed a bit flabby. But again that's not an indication of talent, just keeping up appearances.
