But we had to close the chapter to find our happy ending like “HE” found. Couldn’t have found “HER” if he’d still been just “holding her hand” “even for a night.” Hard to be happy for someone til you get through the pain and you can’t get there either until you get time, distance, (even therapy n sometimes meds), and learn to cope and move on. Not always an easy task but Dua writes the lyrics as she’s happy For them as she realizes how she really felt

This is the best song on the album. The production really captures the essence of radical optimism. Upbeat production that compliments and doesn't overshadow the emotion in the lyrics and vocal performance. I wish she added more tracks like this to RO. It's such a good summer vibe.

This song is pure maturity (what she is singing about and musically). Amazing way to finish an album. Very touching. I wish my ex would be mature like her. Also, have to say... she is giving such a good example and good life lessons to the younger generation. BRAVO DUA!

@@siuniupiuI think what he meant is that over time we end up getting used to songs that say that there is only one person to blame for a relationship not working out, in which, after the separation, who say horrible things about their exes without taking into account that the reason a relationship doesn't work out always comes from both people. Songs made only to highlight the bad sides of a relationship, without taking into account the good times and lessons learned. To recap: sometimes we need to have songs that show a more open outlook, that can show a more mature side, without resentment. If a relationship didn't end well, look back and see how it changed you for the better, without blaming just one side, because we are all human and can make mistakes, but change so as not to repeat the same mistakes, wait for both sides to be okay and move forward.

From 2:39 to the end of the song is my favorite part of the entire album … her vocals , the message , the instruments… the atmosphere is beautiful on this song … you can be happy for anyone you love , friends family or an ex… or just be happy for yourself for everything you’ve been thru !!! One of the very, very few songs where the artist doesn't sing with the performer mask on, but puts his/her whole self. You can hear genuine emotions in her singing, no matter if it's on the official track or during her performances. It's obvious how much this song means for her, and the honesty she's not afraid to show is really admirable.

At the beginning of this year I remember some astrologer saying that this would be a year with a lot of divine feminine energy bringing much of what's needed now. They said that was the most precisely they could predict it, but they were certain. I can't remember who said that, but it definitely resonated deeply back in December or January, whenever they said it, and as the year progresses the message is certainly resounding.

It depends on the relationship. If your ex was clearly abusive it would be very worrying when you are happy that they found somebody new as a victim. It`s not just about maturaty, it`s about how the actual relationship went.

it was 1AM when i first listened to this song. i cried, but it was a catarthic cry, a rollercoaster of mixed feelings. i'm currently in a happy and healthy relationship, but this song has brought back memories that i thought i'd lost, it made me remember how much happy i was with the other person. i broke up with him because i didn't feel the same things as before, but i still think about him sometimes because he's been with me through thick and thin, and he was ready to keep doing it for a long time. i really appreciate him, and even though he probably hates me now i still think he's a wonderful person and he deserves all the love and happiness he can get.

There's not one bad song in this album but this is my favorite track hands down. It captures the optimism she sings about. I can see the growth and maturity in losing a love. She's not resentful and at peace. I absolutely love that.

Despite the radical optimism, the song is tinged by underlying sadness and regret. The tension between the two makes it such a great song.

What a great way to wrap up this album. Being happy for your ex lover is the best way to go on. I also feel like that shows how much love you have/had for the person. Dua showcased real love on this track.

This is a truly incredible song, with a beautiful message. Someone you loved deeply moving on is a difficult thing, but learning to move on yourself is even harder. Her vocals in this song are also so on point, even in all the live performances 😍👌

happy one year to this amazing album & song. I remember listening to it as I was going through an immense move and second breakup, all while avoiding the pain I was feeling with things I am still healing from. Happy For You is unique in that it helped me really go & ask myself "is it worth hurting to not be happy for them and yourself?" - in my opinion, it's one of Dua's best songs in her career and I thank Kevin's production, especially at the end

Happy for You seems upbeat and light on the outside, but has layers that when you carefully peel them out, it reveals a whole different side to this album. Dua Lipa certainly gets inspired in the best possible way.

Honestly, this was the greatest song to close on the album. It showcased the maturity and seriousness of Dua in moving on from the difficulties, and how ahe chooses to navigate without the frustration and anger. So beautiful ❤️. And I hope its not an unpopular opinion, but "Happy For You" was a better closing song than "Boys Will Be Boys" if you ask me. Just listened to Radical Optimism twice, and it was really damn good ❤️. Dua Lipa is definitely here to stay ❤️

I love how the overall style of"Radical optimism" is very different compared to Future nostalgia. Such a different vibe. I think both albums names really fit their style!
