I do appreciate that the lyrics actually fit with the existential crisis at the heart of the movie: singing about how her heart could be burning/breaking, her world could be falling apart, but no one would know because she's still dancing and looking flawless. And sure, on the one hand she might be saying "partying/dancing helps me escape my troubles" but she might also be saying "partying/dancing helps me hide my troubles so no one knows I'm spiraling."

Typically, artist have a typical sound throughout songs, nothing wrong with that, if Dua wants to keep making disco pop , then there's nothing bad about that, cuz her songs are still catchy. Usually when I see artists change their whole sound, people are always complaining but when they make new songs with a similar sound, people complain. It's like no one will ever be satisfied😭😭😭

@@TheGlory16 Because I'm obsessed with her okay...I can't get her out of my mind, no matter how much I try I always think about Dua Lips despite the way I feel about her music. She's the same age as me and I remember being forced to listen to her music since I was 19 because my office had always put the radio on and her music was so annoying and repetitive... that's when I developed my obsession and ever since I have been hearing about her non-stop, I try to ignore her but she's in my TV, the radio, news sites I read and billboards and posters...I can't move on from her no matter how hard I try

I love how this song literally just sounds like a Barbie party exploded into song form but then the lyrics are sad and human. Which is just absolutely perfect for the movie! It’s such an awesome song and it’s probably my favorite of Dua Lipa’s songs. From the second the song starts I’m ready to dance.
